This blew me away so I had to share... although I shouldn't be surprised...
Brinkley a few years ago started a bad habit of biting... only me, I think. Long story short, I had to give her Hot Sauce a couple of times to get her to stop. She would cry and spit and drool. Every time she even thought about biting we would ask if she wanted Hot Sauce and she would stop immediately. It worked like a charm.
Fast forward to Yesterday and a different child...
Ashley had started a really bad habit of spitting. We've done about 30 time outs for it, which obviously isn't working. So, I tell her next time she's getting Hot Sauce if she spits. Like clock work yesterday she's in trouble so she spits all over her legs... I say "ok, time for the Hot Sauce." I put a drop on her tongue... She just looks at me. So, I think maybe I need to shake up the bottle to get the hot stuff mixed in... I put a couple drops in her mouth. She just looks at me.
I say, "Do you like it?"
She say's, "Yea, I do. It's kinda spicy."
Very annoyed I get the worcestershire sauce and put a couple drops of that in her mouth... She just looks at me.
I say, "Do you like that?"
She say's, "Yea, I do. It's spicy to..."
Baffled and out of energy to fight her, I put her down and tell her to go play. She skips to the play room saying, "Brink, Brink... I got hot sauce!" You'd have thought I gave her chocolate.
Emily - Jason and I have used a small cup of water at times, just a small amount of water thrown in the face and it has done the trick for our girls. We'll see about Gage ... not sure how he will react.
